SUMMARY:History of the Villa Dora
DESCRIPTION:Learn the fascinating history of one of Mount Dora’s historic
hotels\, The Villa Dora. In the early years of Mount Dora’s development\,
when there were no chain hotels or motels to accommodate the traveling
population\, there was instead a number of privately owned establishments\,
referred to as either boarding houses or inns. This presentation will
discuss its transformation from a private residence of those early years to
the current six story structure that stands at this location today.
Research has been gathered from the county’s public records and other
historical publications and documents by our presenter\, surveyor\,
historian and Archives volunteer John Hoechst. No registration required.
Refreshments served. \n\nSponsored by the Mount Dora Historical
