Come by the East Lake Library for some Halloween Fun during the month of October.
For our Story, we will read one (or more) of these Halloween books:
Creepy Sheepy By: Lucy Ruth Cummins
5 More Sleeps 'Til Halloween By: Jimmy Fallon
Clifford's Halloween By: Norman Bridwell
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown By: Charles Schulz
For our Story Extension, we will create our own Scary Stories by using Scary Story Starter Cubes to give us some ideas. (Children can display their finished stories for our Patrons to read during the month of October, if they wish.)
For Art, choose a fun Halloween Face Paint from our Halloween Face Painting Menu, decorate our window and sidewalk with Halloween Stencils and Chalk, and check out a Halloween book from the East Lake Library to take home.

The Outdoor Pop-In Storytime and Craft Events for School Age children takes place on Wednesdays between the times of 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Please "pop-in" during these times when it is convenient for you. The story, craft, and any other activities tend to run around 30 minutes maximum. These events are geared towards ages 6-11.
The event takes place under the awning at the front of the building by the Check Out Window. We have a new story and craft event every month.
We often work with paint, markers, and glue. Please keep in mind that these materials may end up on clothing.
IMPORTANT: Due to maximum occupancy limits in our current location, these events cannot be held or moved inside due to bad weather. If at any point, there is any sort of inclement weather (such as rain, lighting, high winds, extreme heat) the event must be cancelled, even if it is already in progress. Please feel free to give us a call on the day of the event at (352) 383-9980 between 9:00 AM-5:00 PM to find out the updated status of the event- including weather and if there are any changes to the times. We appreciate everyone's understanding, as the weather in Florida can be especially unpredictable.
