Beginner's Bird Carving Workshop with Roger Foote

Leesburg Public Library - Meeting Room B

In-Person

Join master carver Roger Foote for a hands-on beginner's class in bird carving. With over 50 years of experience and more than 3,500 bird carvings residing in homes across the US and Europe, Roger brings a wealth of knowledge and artistry to each class.

Originally from upstate New York, Roger now lives in Leesburg with his wife, Linda, where he carves daily in his home studio. He has studied under six world-renowned carvers and loves sharing his passion for birds and woodcraft with others.

This year's project focuses on the charming Nuthatch. In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn step-by-step how to carve this delightful bird and gain insight into bird anatomy and identification along the way.

Whether you're brand new to carving or looking to revisit a long-lost hobby, this class is a fun and creative way to connect with nature and learn a time-honored skill.

Please note: You will need to bring your own carving knife. Everything else is provided.
