Britain's Loyal Colonies Lost: The American Revolution in Florida
W.T. Bland Public Library (Mount Dora) - Community Room
In-Person
Learn the often overlooked story of Florida in the War of Independence with Dr. David Head, Historian at the University of Central Florida. As 13 of Britain’s colonies declared independence in 1776, the empire’s Florida colonies, East Florida and West Florida, remained loyal to King George. Eyed by American and Spanish forces alike, the Floridas were soon engulfed in war. No registration required.
Sponsored by Florida Humanities & Ocklawaha Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
