Are you interested in local history or learning how to edit Wikipedia pages? Do you have a stack of old, Lake County photos you would like to preserve and share? Do you want to leave your mark on the world and contribute to something that will last forever?
Join us at the Leesburg Public Library for a local history crowdsourcing event on Saturday, March 8 from 9am-1pm.
Help create, edit, and improve Wikipedia articles about famous, influential, and celebrated Lake Countians.
We will provide training for basic Wikipedia editing. Bring your laptop, or use one of ours. At the Leesburg Public Library, you'll have access to newspaper on microfilm, along with our local history, genealogy, and obituary collections. Use our scanning equipment to digitize and preserve photos and documents.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who has an interest in local history, editing webpages, copyediting, or is simply curious about Wikipedia.
